Privacy policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
GrubGrange helps people in and around LaGrange, Georgia find food trucks. This policy covers the GrubGrange website and web app at grubgrange.com (also served at grubgrange-web.web.app) and the GrubGrange Android app (com.grubgrange.app).
- No customer accounts. You never sign up or log in.
- No ads, no advertising ID, and no analytics or tracking cookies.
- Your location is used on your device only, and only if you allow it.
- We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
Your location
The app asks before using your location. If you allow it, your phone or browser gives the app your GPS position so it can center the map and show how far away trucks are. Your location is not uploaded or stored on our servers. We do not track you in the background. If you choose “Not now” or block location, the map still works and starts on LaGrange.
Truck check-ins (owners)
When a truck owner taps “I’m here,” that truck’s GPS point is sent to Firebase so customers can see where the truck is. Check-ins are public in the app and are cleared when the owner’s time is up (and at midnight). Owners enter a PIN to post; the PIN is sent to our Cloud Function to verify the truck.
Saved trucks and settings
Favorites and app settings are stored only on your device (in the browser’s local storage on the web). On the Android app, saving a truck subscribes that phone to alerts for that truck.
Notifications
Optional, and only on the Android app. If you allow notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging so your phone can be alerted when a saved truck checks in or posts news. The website does not send push notifications.
Offline cache and install
If you install GrubGrange from your browser, or simply visit the site, your browser may keep a copy of the app’s files (a “service worker” cache) so it opens faster. This cache stays on your device and contains no personal information. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser or uninstalling the app.
Map, directions and app files
- Map tiles: the map uses OpenStreetMap tiles. Viewing the map sends tile requests (including your IP address) to OpenStreetMap’s servers.
- Directions: tapping “Go” or “Get Directions” opens Google Maps with the truck’s location. Google’s privacy policy applies there.
- App files and fonts: parts of the app (the rendering engine, Firebase libraries and fonts) load from Google’s servers (
gstatic.com). - Links you tap: a truck’s phone number, website, Facebook or Instagram open in those apps or sites.
Hosting and server logs
The website and truck data are hosted on Google Firebase (Firebase Hosting, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions). Like any web host, Google processes basic technical information (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. GrubGrange does not use this information to identify or profile you.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers above, as needed to run the app: Google Firebase (hosting, truck data, owner check-ins and notifications), OpenStreetMap (map imagery) and Google (app files, fonts, and directions when you ask for them). We don’t sell personal information and we don’t share it for advertising.
Ads
GrubGrange does not show ads and does not use an advertising ID.
Children
GrubGrange is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
